Finnish jury members

After the announcement of our semi-finalists by March 10th 2017, a Finnish, Danish- and Norwegian jury will each choose a Top 10. The three Top 10's will be announced on March 31st, 2017.

The Finnish jury will also choose a winner and runner-up, that will be announced in a ceremony on International dance day at Cable Factory, Helsinki, April 29th, 2017. Below you can read more about the Finnish jury members.

 



Pia Andell (FI)

Current: film director, producer
Previous: Pia Andell has directed creative documentary films over 20 years and for the past two years focused on fiction films. Her films have been awarded in Finland and abroad.  
Education: Master of Arts, Master of Social Sciences

Anniina Kumpuniemi (FI)

Current: dancer-choreographer, managing director of Dance Theatre MD
Previous: Anniina Kumpuniemi has worked for over 20 years as one of the core members in Dance Theatre MD in Tampere, Finland. She has worked as a dancer in over 70 productions and created 20 choreographies.

Outi Rousu (FI)

Current profession: film commissioner / AVEK
Previous profession: Outi has directed documentaries and produced number of awarded feature films, short films, dance films, documentaries and international co-productions. Eight films have been awarded the State film prize.
Education: BA, graduating in film & art history, Producer degree at the art university Taik, The international producer degree EAVE, additional educations on production, distribution, script writing and camera work.

Paleface (Karri Miettinen) (FI)

Current: rapper & performing artist
Previous: Paleface is a pioneering Finnish hip hop artist and activist. The multi-award winning performer is best known for his socially conscious lyrics and eclectic musical endeavors. Additionally he has scored theatre and films. Besides his work, Paleface is an outspoken social critic associated with human rights work and many other forms of social activism.

Hanna Pajala-Assefa (FI)

Current: contemporary dance artist, developing and researching an interdisciplinary method called Sounding Motion
Previous: Former director and founder of Loikka festival. Has worked as an independent dance artist for over 20 years choreographing dance works, directing dance films and making with art and technology. Recent stage works Poimintoja 2015 and History of a Love 2013.
